From 2014-2017, I contributed to a tri-partnership research intuitive that included Elections Canada, the University of Ottawa Faculty of Education, and the Encounters with Canada national youth democratic program. With a team of researchers and educators, we worked with teacher candidates to develop action-based civic engagement modules that were facilitated with over 1,000 youth from across Canada every year.
From 2016-2018, I was part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers (from history, science, and social studies education) who worked with teacher candidates to utilize Citizen Science as a way of integrating civic education into science classes in the University of Ottawa’s teacher education program.
In addition to my doctoral research, I have also carried out research projects with the Canadian Teachers’ Federation / Fédération canadienne des enseignantes et des enseignants, and several non-profit organizations.
